Coach Community Update - Summer 2023

Can you believe it’s JUNE? This year is flying by! Time for a quick community update from yours truly.

What’s new at ECC

First off, a VERY warm welcome to all those new faces who’ve joined us this year from near and afar! Delighted to have you with us.

We’ve had lots of exciting developments at ECC we’ve been busy beavering away at, including:

  • becoming an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT)
  • developing a new system to replace a creaking Maisy (stay tuned, but I assure you it’ll be worth the wait!)
  • brilliant new additions to the core team in 2023 (👋  Anna & Kara-Leigh on the Client & Programmes Team, Dan in the Finance team)
  • some exciting new projects to boot (such as kicking off with Blackrock and Deloitte for Parental Coaching and Morgan Stanley for Gender Equity programmes)
  • streamlining our product offering (we’re moving towards including Carers in our offering, so PTC now becomes Parents and Carers (P&C), and having three streams in our Gender Equity offering – Inspire, Accelerate and Amplify)
  • shifting to more face to face and hybrid delivery requests
  • AND a big redesign of the website as well as beefing up our resources for individuals and organisations (they’re truly excellent – check ‘em out).

Managing our Coach Community – Coach Groups

- With an expanding coach team and to enable greater community mingling, diversity of thought, and more frequent feedback we’ve taken the decision to move from 1:1 yearly meetings at the end of the year with an ECC Coach Contact, to setting up Coach Groups. The idea is to have the group come together a couple of times a year to share experiences of being in the ECC coach community, to give feedback and make suggestions on how ECC can improve things for you and the clients you work with, to learn from each other and discuss priorities for further development.

- As the coach community continues to grow I’ve been joined by Sammie who is now overseeing all new coach onboarding, and Jules is acting as a link with the client & programmes team to help ensure we’ve a diverse spread of coaches across our clients and products and can be consciously recruiting for any gaps and streamlining training accordingly. 

Development Calendar

In the Development Calendar for the remainder of the year we’ve tweaked a few things too. Some of these are already in your diary and the rest I’m slotting in over the coming weeks. Attached is a list of previous learning events to whet your appetite in the meantime.

- The Coach Team Update on 11th September (either morning or afternoon) is a key meeting to attend, led by the ECC Board to connect us as a wider community and hear the latest strategic updates.

- Product Supervision sessions for Parents & Carers (first one on the 19th), Gender Equity, and Executive Coaching. Everyone is welcome to all, but if you’re part of those coaching teams please do your best to be there as it’s a chance to hear any important updates/address concerns/share themes and peer learn (recordings will be made).

- We’ll have some peer learning and guest speaker topics slotting verrryy soon!

- For those of you who can make it in person we’ll also be organising a summer drinks hosted in the office, and of course our annual festivities in December.
